Passionate about the sound

Kathrine Yong is an audio engineer and producer with an enthusiasm for creating different kinds of musical experiences for audiences and artists. Currently, she is completing her here in Audio Engineering and Sound Production at JMC Academy in Brisbane.

With a heart deeply rooted in studio recording and album production, Kathrine is passionate about possessing every single track in the recording to bring out the essence of music. She always communicates with artists and manages the expectation of artists to balance the industry standard and the artist’s expectations of the music. Combination of the classic and creative methods in different stages of the music production to achieve a brand new and unique mix for the artist.

Apart from the studio, Kathrine would always like to explore different audio industries such as live mixing, post-production, lighting engineering and AV. She did have some relevant experience in these industries through volunteering.

Back in her days in high school, Kathrine played the guitar from 12 years old. She is holding the Classical Guitar Grade 7 certification. She had been involved in a range of different performances in Malaysia and some competitions as well. Out of classical music, she did some band stuff, mainly playing guitar or bass in the band. Besides, she was a guitar ensemble conductor for around two years. She did some Morden Music Composition in high school and is able to do MIDI Composition with Ableton.
